REAL MUSIC
So, out of curiosity you clicked on the link that brought you to this page, Real Music. Yes, I would have done the same. Now, let me explain to you what I mean by this statement, Real Music-Experience.
At the age of eleven, I was trained in classical piano, which lasted 3 years. During these years, I learned about everything that the teacher could teach and I got pretty good at it. I had an ear for music and the talent.
However, as the years went forward, and not continuing practicing and reading musical score, I lost the ability to play music by the reading the musical score. So, that only left my ears.
Basically, I play mostly by ear, as it is called. Also I ad lib (improvise) a lot, even with my own songs. When you play a song by ear, you have a tendency to play more from the Heart.
Now, give me a lyric sheet with cord patterns and let me hear a verse and chorus, and I'm good to go. As far as writing my own songs, I'll write the lyric, hear the melody in my head (sometimes reversed) and by the improvisation of sounds, I create a song.
Now getting back to the Real Music-Experience.
I love listening to orchestrated music, with all the other instruments and vocals, plus piano playing etc. I get up early (most of the time) and listen to Paul Wilber and others, on YouTube with all the great and anointed musicians playing worship and praise music. It is totally moving! But! What happens if you take away their musical score? Exactly! I have the same problem. If you take away my lyric sheet,
with the
cords [musical score], even I would have a hard time playing, and I do. However, even with a musical score I rely on the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. When you are under Gods' Anointing, everything is different. You will have the ability to play the music you are playing from the:
Heart of Jesus himself.
As a producer, I like songs that are different, not
this cookie-cutter style music you hear on the radio all day long.
I love 'Live Music'! To me, recording 'Live Music' is very rewarding, even in the 'Studio'. If you go out to do a gig or even a concert, your performance is 'Live'! It has little to no doctoring up, just Raw Music. What you hear is what you get! Now, I especially love live music under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit.
Playing and capturing this type of music is more rewarding than just playing a song to record. God created music! At the sound of His voice, all things were created. You can spend hundreds and thousands of dollars, in a studio, recording songs that
will have little meaning to your listener, other than a pretty song they may be moved by. Your songs need to be Heart felt. I have a CD of Stevie Ray Vaughan 'Texas Flood' where he gives a short interview. When asked how he writes his songs he tells that 'he can't read music therefore he writes from his Heart'! Amazing!
The wife and I had the great pleasure of seeing him 'In Concert' before he past on. A Great musician and songwriter.
Conclusion:
When writing, singing, playing and recording your song(s); do it from your
Heart and (prayerfully), under the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Then you will have had...
